Steelhead Law combines a depth of experience in both science and law to provide its clients with a unique approach to solving their legal challenges. The firm understands the science underpinning today’s environmental issues which, combined with our experience in environmental law, allows Steelhead Law to help clients overcome their obstacles and achieve their goals.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Steelhead Law’s principal, Douglas Steding, earned his Ph.D. in geochemistry, studying the fate and transport of metals in the atmosphere and in estuaries. His research resulted in a cover article in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, and his work included some of the first studies of the impact of industrial emissions from China on mercury deposition on the west coast of North America. Prior to founding Steelhead Law, Doug worked as an environmental and telecommunications lawyer at a large energy and environmental law firm, and now is focusing on combining his scientific and legal experience in Steelhead Law. Doug believes Steelhead Law’s size and focus allows him to provide effective, efficient solutions to his clients’ issues.
